The Whitehead Internship Program encourages Haverford students who have completed their sophomore or junior year to engage in an 8 – 10 week summer work experience related to entrepreneurial endeavors, small business enterprise, venture capital or investment finance activities.

Each year more than 130 Haverford students take advantage of the opportunity to study abroad.

Haverford’s serene campus is a nationally recognized arboretum with 400 species of trees and shrubs, a 3.5-acre duck pond, gardens and wooded areas.

Students interested in health professions can now participate in the Bi-College multi-disciplinary health studies program, which gives students in any major the opportunity to minor in health studies.

The Writing Program administers the first-year writing seminars which encourage students to become rigorous thinkers and writers who can construct arguments that matter, and supports a Writing Center where specially-trained peer tutors work with fellow students.

Henri Drake ’15, who graduated with honors in mathematics, is working as a research specialist at Jorge Sarmiento’s oceanography laboratory at Princeton University for a year.

The John B. Hurford ’60 Center for the Arts and Humanities’ Student Arts Fund helps students pursue creative interests that build upon and go beyond the offerings of our formal curriculum.

Upgraded facilities, more full-time coaches, state-of-the-art strength training and other enhancements have helped Haverford’s teams post impressive results in recent years. But the true measure of success for athletics is reflected in how well the program allows students to excel in both sports and academics.
