Part of the Dining Center since its 1969 opening, the fireplace in the Sunken Lounge has long served as a meeting place and study space for students looking to warm up.

Commencement will take place Sunday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. Honorary degrees will be awarded to Thandeka Luthuli Gcabashe, Sister Mary Scullion, and Bryan A. Stevenson.

Cognitive psychologist John Kounios ’78 has turned his groundbreaking research on creative insight and the brain into a new book that explores how we come to those “aha! moments” of inspiration, and how we can have more of them.
