Upgraded facilities, more full-time coaches, state-of-the-art strength training and other enhancements have helped Haverford’s teams post impressive results in recent years. But the true measure of success for athletics is reflected in how well the program allows students to excel in both sports and academics.
The Biochemistry superlab is designed so that students get first hand experience using techniques and equipment commonly used in graduate labs and research facilities; however, what really makes superlab special is the independence the professors give.
Over winter break, nine students got a fresh perspective on immigration as part of a weeklong Borderlands Field Study to Arizona and Mexico sponsored by the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship.
William Penn’s 1687 publication of The Excellent Priviledge of Liberty & Property was the first American printing of his translation of the Magna Carta, and Haverford’s copy is the only surviving complete example.
Haverford’s small size makes possible a highly personalized, hands-on educational experience. Professors work side-by-side with students to do high-level research while also developing analytical thinking and pushing the boundaries of each discipline.
When Max Weissman ’89 graduated from Haverford, reality television didn’t exist. Now, his production company makes some of the best shows in the real estate reality genre, bringing former soap stars’ and rappers’ renovations into homes across America.
