Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Access
Programming
IDEA provides and curates a series of collaborative learning and engagement opportunities for members of the Haverford College community to fuel discussions, dialogue, policy making, and community building.
In order to foster awareness, inclusion, and a sense of belonging—some of our programming is inter-group, and some intra-group—each program description designates the members of our community who are encouraged to join. In addition to our growing list of signature programming, IDEA offers co-sponsorship and capacity-building for events and initiatives across campus in a variety of ways including funding and advertisement.
Featured Program: What Matters to Me and Why
A new series that facilitates space for community members to connect with one another, building authentic and generative relationships. In the setting of a fire-side chat, the featured guest speakers engage in storytelling and dialogues with one another around a particular theme or topic of interest. Some of the themes for AY 2023-24 include cultivating a community via food and nourishment, political voice and peacemaking, imagining a liberatory future, and advancing accessibility.
