Being a Student-Athlete

To be a student-athlete is to be someone who sees the critical importance of the lessons learned both in the classroom and on the field. I truly believe that life rewards individuals who are hard-working, flexible, and capable of relating to many different types of people.” – Andrew Bostick ’12, epeeist

In the Collection: Zapotec catechism

In the Collection

Among Special Collections’ latest acquisitions is a second edition of a Zapotec catechism and several other religious texts published in Mexico in 1766. These bilingual works were purchased in consultation with Assistant Professor of Linguistics Brook Lillehaugen, whose research focuses on Zapotec, an endangered language family indigenous to southern Mexico.

Cool Classes: Philadelphia Freedoms: Cultural Landscapes and Civic Ideals

The writing seminar “Philadelphia Freedoms: Cultural Landscapes and Civic Ideals” explores the history of the city in order to trace how its founding principles have manifested themselves in the lived experiences of its residents over many generations.

Our Cool Classes blog series highlights interesting, unusual, and unique courses that enrich the Haverford College experience.

The class includes a critical archival project in cooperation with local arts/social justice organizations such as RAIR (Recycled Artist in Residency) and a visit to RAIR's Revolution Recovery space. Photo: Caleb Eckert '17.
