John Spielman's life, career, and service to the College will be honored at a memorial service on Saturday, September 26, at the Haverford Friends Meeting House. Among those from the Haverford community eulogizing Spielman at the event will be Roger Lane, who, in the following "Memorial Minute," celebrates his former history department colleague as a "son of the west" and man of "timeless" virtues.
