Office Hour – Darin Hayton

Associate Professor of History Darin Hayton teaches an introduction to the history of Western science, as well as courses on the scientific revolution, plagues and epidemics, and the history of museums.

Visual Culture, Arts, and Media

Haverford’s Visual Culture, Arts, and Media (VCAM) facility houses the College’s Interdisciplinary Minor in Visual Studies, the Haverford Innovations Program, the John B. Hurford ’60 Center for the Arts and Humanities, and its new Philadelphia Area Creative Collaboratives initiative.

Sustainability

The Committee for Environmental Responsibility (CER) was created by the students, faculty, and staff of Haverford College, and reflects our socially responsible principles.

CLUB LIFE: Ford Explorers

Ford Explorers

The club, founded in 2016, leads monthly excursions into Philadelphia to introduce students to the rich variety of neighborhoods and activities available in America’s fifth largest city (a mere eight miles from campus).

Public Observing

Friday, April 20, 2018, 8 p.m.—10 p.m.
Strawbridge Observatory

There will be a student talk, hands-on activities, and observing with our 12-inch and 16-inch telescopes. Student volunteers will be present to give tours and answer astronomy-related questions. This event takes place weather permitting. Details »

Academics

Haverford's intentionally diverse curricular requirements ensure that our students are well-rounded, expansive thinkers. Students take courses in each of three major academic divisions for a variety of ideas, concepts, and intellectual approaches.

Student Engagement - Charcuterie Union

Haverford has more than 100 student groups that publish magazines, host symposia, sing a cappella, discuss religion and spirituality, stay politically active, maintain a system of student self-government, dance, demonstrate, and create.

Founded last fall, Charcuterie Union provides tasty sliced delicacies—as well as the history and knowledge that goes into preparing them—to anyone looking to refine their palette and culinary intellect. Photo: Justin Brendel ’18.
