Primary Care Pre-Medical Internship Fund

The Haverford College Primary Care Pre-Medical Internship Fund was established by Steven M. Jaharis '82 to provide summer stipends to pre-health students interested in delivery of primary health care through medicine, public and community health, and health policy social justice opportunities.

The goal is to provide funding that will allow students to better understand issues that impact patients' primary care health needs in today's complex health care delivery systems.

This summer funding directly applies to pre-health students who are interested in gaining direct patient contact and experience to clinical populations. It is open to first year, sophomore and junior students. To apply to this program for funding, you must do so having identified and secured your own clinical experience and supervisor.

Prior Jaharis Fund recipients have spent their summers in a variety of clinical settings, in the US and abroad, including:

Hospitals
Rehabilitation and recovery facilities
Wellness centers
Urgent care facilities
Free community clinics
Planned Parenthood
Non-profit foundations
