- Helpful online resources:
Presenting the poster:
When presenting your poster in person, ALWAYS be respectful of your audience's time. Your presentation should take no more than 3 minutes to go through without questions. Use the extra time for those who might have questions.
Displaying your poster:
Tape and binder clips will be available for you in the KINSC office for you to mount your poster.
Printing your poster in the KINSC:
Your poster will be printed in the KINSC office, Link 204. Your poster will only be printed once, so please make sure you proofread your poster before submitting it to be printed, as well as having it approved by your research mentor (if needed).
You will submit your poster for printing by emailing your poster as a PDF to kinsc [at] haverford.edu the week of September 23. Email your poster by 9:00 a.m. on the day of your assigned printing date. The schedule is as follows:
- Last names "A - E" will print Monday, September 23
- Last names "F - L" will print Tuesday, September 24
- Last names "M - S" will print Wednesday, September 25
- Last names "T - Z" will print Thursday, September 26
- there will be no printing on Friday, September 27
Posters must be mounted by Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the latest (with strong preference to mount your poster the afternoon/evening prior to the symposium).
Again, please proofread your poster carefully and make sure that your mentor/advisor approves your poster before sending it for printing. Students may also refer to the KINSC poster printing information page.
Giving a talk:
This year, 10 students will be selected by the KINSC Steering Committee to present their summer research as a short talk (5 minutes). You may request to give a talk instead of presenting a poster, or in addition to presenting a poster. If you are interested in giving a talk this year, please register for the symposium by Sept. 9 and indicate on your form your interest in giving a talk.
The KINSC Steering Committee will select students for oral presentations based on their research topics, mentor referral, and diversity of subject. We will select the speakers during the week of September 16 in order to give as much notice to students as possible. If you are not selected to give a talk, you will still be welcome to present a poster during the symposium.
