New Students
Working on Campus
Please Note: Updated information for the Class of 2029 will be available in early June 2025.
Many Haverford students work on campus during the academic year. Please review this information on how to find an on-campus job, documentation you need to bring to campus, and work-study.
Financial Aid & Work-Study
If a work-study award is part of your financial aid package (see the information you received from Haverford’s Financial Aid Office) it typically comes out to working 8 hours per week.
To help make sure you can fulfill that commitment, the first two weeks of the first semester all campus employers give preference to work-study applicants. It is crucial for work-study students to start the job search early and to apply for jobs during this window! When applying, let the office know that having a campus job is part of your Financial Aid package.
If you encounter any problems with finding an on-campus job, please contact the Center for Career and Professional Advising.

Don't have a work-study commitment to fulfill? You can still apply during that two week period, though priority will be given to your peers on work-study until the conclusion of the two week period.
Part-Time Job Board
The Center for Career and Professional Advising (CCPA) posts on-campus jobs on the Part-Time Job Board.
To help make sure you can fulfill that commitment, the first two weeks of the first semester all campus employers give preference to work-study applicants. It is crucial for work-study students to start the job search early and to apply for jobs during this window! When applying, let the office know that having a campus job is part of your Financial Aid package.
How it Works
- Review the on-campus jobs. Be sure to filter by column for on-campus vs. off-campus jobs.
- Apply. Each posting contains information about the position, the application process, and the contact person. Be certain to apply to several on campus jobs. This way, if one of the positions gets filled, you will still have other options.
- Meet with HR. When you are hired, schedule an appointment prior to your first day of work to meet with a representative in the Human Resources office. You must bring the actual I-9 documentation to this appointment for the HR office to view during the on-boarding meeting. Review the list of acceptable I-9 documents (page 3). You must have your original documents—faxes or copies cannot be accepted. If you do not have this documentation, you will not be allowed to work.

Student Employment Program
The mission of the student employment program is to provide students with meaningful work experiences that build practical skills particular to a certain function and general skills such as: punctuality, discipline, honesty, thoroughness, teamwork, and problem solving. Building these employment skills works in partnership with the academic program which forwards students’ intellectual development in the liberal arts.
I-9 documentation provides proof of one's eligibility to legally work in the United States. All students who have never worked for the College before must provide original I-9 documentation within 3 days of hire. Copies and faxes are not acceptable. Review the list of acceptable I-9 documents (page 3) or learn more about completing elections in Workday.
Note: All student workers must log into Workday, the College's HR/Payroll system to on-board as a new hire and enter time worked. You will use the same login and password created for your campus email.
We encourage all new hires to review the Hourly Staff and Student Worker Training documentation.
