Services
Research
Librarians work with individual researchers to ensure that they have every opportunity possible to explore, analyze and grow in knowledge and understanding. Students, faculty, staff, and alumnae/i from the Tri-Colleges, are invited to contact the relevant subject librarian for one-on-one research meetings and for email responses to questions. If you are in one of the libraries, please talk with a library liaison or subject librarian about your research needs.
Teaching
Librarians teach students to understand the iterative process of research and to critically engage with scholarly sources. Subject librarians work with faculty to develop in-class instruction sessions, workshops outside of class, research guides, and tutorials. Librarians tailor instruction and resources to the needs of individual courses.
Values
The Haverford College Libraries join the Haverford community in engaging in work that fosters anti-ableism, anti-racism and anti-white supremacy on campus and in society. The Libraries hold diversity as an educational value that is central to our fundamental mission. We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within all areas of work within the Libraries. Thus, we strive to treat all library users equitably. Furthermore, we aim to create opportunities for students, staff, and faculty so that every member of our community has the tools and experiences to flourish. To follow through on these sentiments, these guiding principles inform our work in research and instruction.
