The anthropology major and education studies minor is in her first quarter at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education, where she is pursuing a Ph.D. in education.
The Nest, an on-campus food pantry for eligible first-generation, low-income students, opened last semester through the collaboration of students and staff across campus.
“We worked through each step of the process for both classes and labs,” Hanidu said. “This included revisiting the learning objectives and discussing ways we could revise the syllabus and class structure to make it more flexible and equitable."
Rippel will start a joint Ph.D. program in African American studies and anthropology at Yale University in the fall after finishing his Watson Fellowship year.
“The community is coming together to help each other,” said Shittu. “People [are] opening up resources, people are sending links, people are writing petitions, working together, collaborating… This reaffirms one of the reasons why I would go to a place like Haverford.”
