Applying to Haverford
Applying with the QuestBridge National College Match
- Is the QuestBridge Match binding at Haverford?
-
If I apply through the QuestBridge Match, do you still require me to submit the Haverford supplement?
If you are applying through the QuestBridge Match, you do not need to submit the Haverford supplement. If you do not match and apply through Early or Regular Decision, we do require all students to complete Haverford’s supplement.
-
I’m a QuestBridge Match Finalist who wants to submit updated application material to Haverford. How do I do that?
If you need to submit an updated transcript, please have your counselor e-mail the admission [at] haverford.edu (admission office). If you are looking to submit an updated copy of an ACT or SAT score report, please e-mail the admission [at] haverford.edu (admission office). Any other supplemental material can also be sent to the main admission [at] haverford.edu (admission email) and we will incorporate this into your application.
Applying Early Decision or Regular Decision
-
I’m a QuestBridge Match Finalist, but was not matched with Haverford or any other partner college. How do I apply Early Decision?
If you are interested in applying Early Decision, please e-mail jlord [at] haverford.edu (Jess Lord), VP & Dean of Admission and Financial Aid, by December 6 for ED 1 or by January 5 for ED 2. You will also need to complete Haverford’s supplement.
-
If I am a QuestBridge Finalist, do I need to request a fee waiver or pay the application fee to be considered in Early Decision or Regular Decision?
As a QuestBridge Finalist, when you use your QuestBridge application to apply either in Early Decision or Regular Decision, you will automatically receive a fee waiver.
-
If I use the QuestBridge application to apply outside the match process, do you still require me to submit the Haverford supplement?
Yes, all Early and Regular Decision applicants are required to submit a Haverford’s supplement. If you apply Early or Regular Decision and send either your Common Application or Coalition Application, you only need to complete the supplement connected to the application you submit.
-
If I use my QuestBridge application to apply in the Regular Decision process, are there other application materials I should submit?
Please submit Haverford’s supplement and ask your counselor to submit your mid-year grades as soon as they are available. Your counselor can submit this to Haverford via admission [at] haverford.edu (e-mail), by fax to 610-896-1338, or by mail to Haverford College Admission, 370 Lancaster Avenue, Haverford, PA 19041.
-
I’m a QuestBridge Non-Finalist. How do I apply?
You can absolutely use your QuestBridge application to apply to Haverford; just ask QuestBridge to send Haverford your application. You can also submit a Common Application or a Coalition Application, if you prefer.
-
Should I use the QuestBridge Application, Common Application, or Coalition Application?
Haverford has no preference, so please apply using whichever application with which you feel most comfortable.
-
If I use the QuestBridge application, does it strengthen my candidacy to also send my Common Application?
There is no added benefit to submitting an additional application. If you would like to submit your Common or Coalition Application you are able to do so, but we will focus our attention on the most recent application that is submitted.
-
Can I self-report test scores?
Yes! Haverford is test optional, and your decision whether or not to submit testing will have no negative impact on your application. If you do choose to submit testing, we do accept self-reported scores from your QuestBridge Application (or any other application you may use as part of the process). You must report all sub-scores for each reported sitting; if you are reporting multiple sittings of an exam we will create a composite superscore for you. If you receive exam results after you have submitted your QuestBridge Application, you can still self-report your scores by submitting a screenshot of your official score report or have your counselor send a copy of your official score report to admission [at] haverford.edu, or have them sent to us by the testing agency.
You can learn more about how test-optional works in the application instructions section.
-
I am taking dual enrollment courses at a local college. Do you need official copies of my college transcripts? What if those grades are included in my high school transcript?
The admission office does not need an official copy of your college transcript. If the courses you are taking are not included on your high school transcript, please send us an unofficial transcript. You can e-mail your transcript directly to the admission office.
