Education
B.A and M.A, University of Pennsylvania (2006-2010)
Ph.D., Yale University (2010-2015)
Postdoctoral Fellow, Brown University (2015-2019)
Courses I teach
During the 2019-2020 school year, I taught Math 215 (linear algebra). During the 2020-2021 school year, I'll be teaching the year-long abstract algebra sequence (Math 333 in the Fall and Math 334 in the Spring).
Research:
My research is in geometry, topology, and group theory. Key areas of interest include:
- Teichmuller theory and mapping class groups
- Outer automorphisms of free groups
- Dynamics of group actions
- Metric geometry, especially in the setting of non-positive curvature
- Problems arising at the overlap between surface topology and combinatorics
