Education
MLS, Syracuse University
BA, Haverford College
I started working in libraries as an undergraduate here at Haverford, then took a full-time position in Cataloging upon graduating. I left to get my Library Masters in 1993, then returned to the area in 1995 and worked on developing a database of subject terms for Haverford’s and two other local Quaker history libraries. I returned to working in a full-time position for Haverford in 1996, then moved into a professional position here in 2000, focusing on Acquisitions. Major projects I have participated in here have included helping to create and refine the joint Tri-College approval plan for book selection, a system that allows a unique degree of collaboration among the subject specialists of the three colleges; and helping to shepherd Haverford and the Tri-Colleges into the age of e-books. I enjoy analyzing projects like these to look for inefficiencies and to better serve the needs of library users and fellow staff.
I ran on the track team as an undergraduate at Haverford under coach Tom Donnelly.
