Karen Viars is the Research and Instruction Librarian for History, Political Science, and Africa and Africana Studies. She supports students and faculty in research in these disciplines through research consultation, materials selection, and instruction sessions. Her experience prior to joining Haverford College includes Oglethorpe University Library, the Georgia Institue of Technology Library, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
In addition to her subject areas, Karen's research interests include instructional design and and science fiction studies, including science fiction/fantasy materials in academic libraries.
