Biography
Jason is committed to supporting college students as they discern their identities, passions, and life journeys. In his role at CCPA, Jason connects students to an array of opportunities to grow intellectually and professionally as scholars and leaders. This includes advising students on identifying and applying to competitive fellowship programs (e.g., Fulbright, Watson, Goldwater, Truman, and others), as well as providing general guidance on navigating the career exploration and job search process. In addition, Jason coordinates the office's efforts to assess and evaluate student learning outcomes related to career development and success.
Much of Jason’s background has been grounded in diversity, equity, and inclusion work, specifically around efforts to promote the success of students of color, first-generation, and low-income students. He also has experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning and programmatic outcomes. In addition to professional experiences in the higher education and educational nonprofit sectors, Jason has also conducted research on how college students construct understandings of race and racial identity within the social, cultural, and political contexts of their geographic environments.
