Electric Vehicle Chargers
During the summer of 2020, the College installed ten Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) Chargers in four campus locations, with the support of generous rebates from Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection and PECO, the College’s energy provider.
The locations are:
- Four chargers in the South Lot, replacing decommissioned Level 1 chargers
- Two chargers just outside of the Lloyd Lot, next to Jones Hall
- Two chargers next to Cadbury House, near the Duck Pond
- Two chargers in the small parking lot adjacent to faculty housing at 10 Railroad Avenue
These chargers are intended for use by community members, as well as campus visitors and guests. The ten spaces, which are painted in green, are only to be used by electric vehicles while they are actively charging. EVs that are no longer charging should be parked in either student, faculty and staff, or visitor parking, as appropriate for the vehicle owner.
As electric vehicles continue to become more and more affordable, it is our hope that the additional charging availability helps make EVs a more feasible option for the many community members that live, work, and study on campus.
These ports are maintained and operated by Flo, a nationwide charging network. Each charger costs $1.00/per hour to use, and generated revenue will be applied towards the cost of utility service and annual maintenance.
