Study Abroad
Photo Contest
2020 Contest Rules
The Annual Study Abroad Photo Contest is open to any student that has attended and completed a Haverford-approved Study Abroad program in the past calendar year, and who has returned from their abroad experience. For example, any student who studied abroad in Spring or Fall of 2019, and who is back on campus for the Spring 2020 semester would be entered in the 2020 Spring Photo Contest. Your photos may have been taken anywhere outside of the US during your time abroad. You may enter one photo per category.
The first round of voting takes place from a panel of faculty and staff judges, who rate the photos and choose their favorite three in each category. Any photo that receives two or more votes from a judge moves onto the second round of voting, the Popular Vote. Students whose photos have made it past the first round of voting will receive an email. The second round is run as a poll, with just the titles and the photos available for display. This round lasts for one to two weeks. Winners will receive an email after the votes have been tallied.
Cash prizes are awarded for first, second, and third prize in each category, and a Grand Prize for most votes overall is also awarded. There is a ceremony and small reception for all winners and their guests, which students are expected to attend, at the end of April.
Congratulations!
The results are in. Here are the winners of the 2019 Study Abroad Photo Contest.
