Student Life
Campus Safety
Campus Safety is dedicated to making our campus a secure and healthy place to live, work and study. We are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help keep Haverford College as free as possible from threats to your safety or well-being.
We make every effort to prevent crime, provide highly visible security patrols (vehicular and bike), and respond quickly to your needs in a professional and respectful manner. All members of the department are trained in first aid, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and use of automated external defibrillators (AED). Our knowledge of law and regulations is kept current through regular in-service learning, and team members also attend annual training on topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion.
What We Do
The list of services we provide is almost endless. From dorm lockouts to noise complaints to transportation for medical services, Campus Safety team members expect the unexpected, every hour of every day. Our log book from Spring, 2022 provides a vivid look at what we do:
- We respond to fire alarms, medical issues such as illness and injuries, well-being checks, CAPS related calls, various maintenance matters, animal calls (Bats in Barclay) and various other reported incidents.
- We provide walking escorts, bicycle and vehicle registration.
- We patrol campus and walk through campus buildings and secure rooms.
