Haverford College invites applications for a full-time multi-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology to begin Fall 2025.
Haverford College invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professor in the Department of Biology starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, with the possibility of renewal for 1-2 additional years upon successful review. Responsibilities will include teaching five course credits over two semesters at first-year to senior levels, including at least one credit for team-taught course-based research experience lab (CURE). Teaching credits include team-taught courses with associated mentorship, as well as independently taught new courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Candidates with expertise in microbiology, virology, immunology, biochemistry, cell biology and biomedical fields are particularly encouraged to apply; however, all disciplines of biology will be considered. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to engaging students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences and creating a welcoming classroom environment in a liberal arts context.
The position begins July 1, 2025 in preparation for the fall semester of 2025; instruction begins September 2, 2025. Research funding is available to help visiting faculty continue their research activities with students at Haverford.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biology or related field.
