Funding
The Physics Program Inspiration Fund
- The Physics Program Inspiration Fund established in 2021 supports an annual speaker series within the Department of Physics and Astronomy. This Fund will be used to bring speakers with an emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and equity to speak on topics in the field of physics and astronomy, physics and astronomy education, and/or inclusive practices in physics and astronomy.
Boughn-Gollub-Partridge Fund
- The Boughn-Gollub-Partridge Fund for Faculty-Student Research in Astronomy and Physics is for faculty and student research collaborations. Initially, it is intended to fund travel to research at national observatories, including Kitt Peak and Apache Point. This fund will also support faculty-student research collaborations, including conference attendance, where students present research.
Prizes
The Louis B. Green Prizes in Physics and Astronomy
- Awarded in honor of Louis B. Green (1911-1999), a Haverford College Professor of Astronomy and College Administrator who inspired generations of students. These prizes are given to the graduating students who go above and beyond in their contributions to research and/or department culture and events. Established by Charles Ufford, a Haverford College parent.
