Community
Haverford has more than 140 groups who publish magazines, host symposia, sing a cappella, discuss religion and spirituality, stay politically active, maintain a system of student self-government, dance, demonstrate and create.
Young Alumni Month
Our monthlong celebration of Haverford's youngest alumni concludes tonight at midnight. Gifts from the classes of 2009–2018 have added impact with a special matching challenge.
Distinguished Visitors - Victor Lavalle
Haverford hosts guest speakers through programs such as Distinguished Visitors, the Young Academic Alumni Lecture Series, and the Mark and Lillian Shapiro Speaking Initiative. These lectures, classroom visits, and workshops enhance and supplement the core curriculum.
Community Housing
For students looking to forge close connections around shared interests, Haverford offers special interest housing choices, such as La Casa Hispánica (for students actively engaged in organizing programs concerned with the cultures and civilizations of the Spanish-speaking world); Cadbury House (quiet study, and alcohol and drug-free); and the Ira De A. Reid House (devoted to extending the legacy of Reid, a renowned sociologist and Haverford’s first tenured African American faculty member).
