Applying to medical and dental schools is exciting and self-reflective, as well as time-consuming and comprehensive. With advanced planning, time management skills, and persistence, it is an eminently achievable and very rewarding process.
Below is an Application Timeline, comprised of both internal and external deadlines to note, In order for medical and dental school applicants to successfully complete the Committee Letter process.
Application Timeline
| January 15 | Complete and submit a Pre-Health Applicant Data Form. |
| March 15 | Complete and submit a Pre-Health Applicant Self-Assessment Form. Schedule a 45-minute Self-Assessment Form Review with the Director of Pre-Professional Advising. |
| April 1 | At least 3 letters of recommendation (maximum of 6) must be submitted to PrivateFolio account. |
| April—May | Last recommended MCAT or DAT test administration for the upcoming application cycle. |
| First Week of May | Medical School and Dental School application portals open. |
| First Week of June | Medical School and Dental School primary application submissions begin. |
| Last Week of June | Verified primary applications begin to be sent to medical and dental schools. |
| June-July | Medical school applicants only complete situational judgment tests (SJT), as requested (e.g.,CASPer, AAMC PREview). |
| June-July | Receive and complete secondary applications within a two-week timeframe. |
| August-March | Schedule and attend medical school and dental school interviews. |
| October-April | Receive medical school and dental school offers on a rolling basis. |
| August | Matriculate at medical school and dental school. |
