Resources for Separated Immigrant Families

Friends,

When natural disasters struck Mexico City, Houston, and the Caribbean last year, we presented information for contributing to relief efforts, and Haverfordians on campus and beyond responded vigorously. 

Now we face a human-made humanitarian crisis in the persisting separation of children from their parents as part of our national immigration policy. For those who would like to make a difference to these children and their families, the following agencies welcome your contributions:

• Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP)
• Kids in Need of Defense (KIND)
• La Unión Del Pueblo Entero (LUPE)
• The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES)
• The Texas Civil Rights Project
• The Immigrant Children's Assistance Project (ICAP) of the American Bar Association

Here at the College, we continue to work with the President's Alliance on Education and Immigration and the Friends Committee on National Legislation in seeking just legislation for DACA recipients (see here), many of whom are students at institutions like Haverford throughout the country, as well as legislative relief from the administration's travel ban.
