Play on Philly performs with the Haverford-Mawr College Orchestra

On Saturday, April 2 at 1 PM, over 100 students from Play On Philly and the Haverford-Bryn Mawr College Orchestra performed on the Marshall Auditorium stage in celebration of their work together this year.
On Saturday April 2 at 1:00 p.m., over 100 students from Play on Philly and the Haverford-Bryn Mawr College Orchestra performed together as a culmination of their work together this year. This concert was held in Marshall Auditorium Roberts Hall.
The entire group of over 100 players performed Adoration for Strings by Florence B. Price, conducted by Mitch Newman, and Nature's Karmic Vengeance for Orchestra by Kerwin Young conducted by Heidi Jacob.
The program also included performances by Play On Philly including Moliendo Cafe by José Manzo Perroni by the brass players, and Libertango by Astor Piazzolla by the string ensemble. The Bi-College Chamber music program will perform selections from the Dvorak American String Quartet.

Play On Philly provides underserved children in Philadelphia a transformative music education experience that develops and inspires the behaviors and personal skills needed for a successful life.
They provide 2 hours of music instruction and ensemble practice every day after school and over 25 performance opportunities throughout the year. For this concert, Play on Philly students worked with the Haverford-Bryn Mawr Orchestra students at an initial Meet and Greet, rehearsals, and this final performance together.
