Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship
Funding
Term-Timed Stipend
Each Fellow is awarded $4,000 over the academic year in eight regular monthly payments of $500 from September through April. This stipend is intended to facilitate opportunities for scholars to engage in research by alleviating or eliminating the need to engage in additional paid employment.
Fellows must demonstrate a serious effort toward academic excellence and continued academic progress. Fellows who repeatedly miss program activities may have their stipend withheld. Repeated absences or general lack of participation and engagement in MMUF activities may result in being asked to withdraw from the program.
Scholar Development Fund (formerly Research and Conference/Workshop Travel Funds)
Scholars are eligible for up to $800 per academic year to assist with expenses related to travel and/or research. Funds may be used to support participation in academic conferences (including registration fees and travel and lodging expenses) or to assist with expenses related to research needs.

Summer Funding
Summer funding of $4,500 is available to Fellows to allow participation, for a minimum of six weeks, in a meaningful research, learning, or work experience that may be underpaid or even unpaid. MMUF summer grants may not be combined with any other fellowship or grant offered by the College.
Undergraduate Loan Repayment
Fellows are eligible for up to $10,000 for the repayment of undergraduate loans, provided they enroll in full-time graduate study.
