Library Resources as You Plan to Leave Campus
Details
When you need us, don't hesitate to contact your subject librarians. The Libraries staff is here to support you.
1) Take Print Copies Home
Check out print copies of books, music scores, and other things you need before you leave campus. They won't be due until Feb. 15th. Want to keep something you already have? Sign into Tripod, open your account, and renew it through the My Loans link. If you want to keep a book borrowed from outside of the Tricolleges, please contact Rob Haley (rhaley [at] haverford.edu).
Want advice on how to find resources for papers? Send an email to the subject librarian/s for your classes. We will respond with resources and research strategies as well as linked searches in journal databases and library catalogs.
2) Access E-Resources through Tripod
When you are off campus, access ebooks, online journals, streaming films and more from the Tripod catalog. Authenticate using the libraries' EZProxy.
If you start at the Tripod catalog, you will be prompted to sign in to EZProxy and authenticate through the Off-campus Access page when you click on an online resource link. Keep the proxy prefix in place as you search and access resources in Tripod.
If you plan to work in-depth on a research paper, download VPN software from IITS. Once you sign in, you can connect to resources (with Haverford subscriptions) on the open Web as well as in Tripod.
3) Request Interlibrary Loans
When you are off campus, request resources you need that are not available through Tripod. We will do our best to provide them. Use these links from the Support during Covid-19 page:
Articles or Book Chapters form
4) Access Special Collections Remotely
Quaker & Special Collections will continue to be open for virtual appointments and to fulfill copy requests until December 9.
When you get home, we are still your librarians. Call on us, when you need us.
