Haverfordians are regularly recognized for scholarly achievement through awards and fellowships such as Fulbright, Watson, Guggenheim, and the Nobel Prize.

DocuLabs

Designed in engagement with Assistant Professor of Linguistics Brook Danielle Lillehaugen’s ongoing fieldwork with speakers of Zapotec languages, Dizhsa Nabani – Lengua Viva – Living Language is a documentary webseries that explores the relationship between identity, language, and daily life in Tlacochahuaya, Oaxaca, Mexico. It was produced, in part, by students in the Summer DocuLab program over the summer of 2018

DocuLabs is a donor-funded five-year program supported by VCAM and the John B. Hurford ’60 Center for the Arts and Humanities. A new episode of Dizhsa Nabani will be released every Thursday through November 15, 2018.

Academic Partnerships

Through the Tri-College Consortium, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, and Swarthmore students take classes at all three schools and frequently collaborate on extracurricular activities.

The new Tri-Co Philly Program is a semester-long, non-residential program that provides students both curricular and co-curricular activities in nearby Philadelphia.

The urban setting of Philadelphia provides a sense of place to enhance the classroom experience, helping students learn firsthand how the material in the courses is informed by the environment around them.
