Along with teaching courses in calculus, geometry, and linear algebra, Senior Lecturer of Mathematics and Statistics Jeff Tecosky-Feldman directs the Chesick Summer Institute, a vital part of the Chesick Scholars Program, a four-year academic mentoring and leadership program for under-represented, under-resourced, or first-generation Haverford students that includes a residential summer program.

“Sport and Society”

Born of a 2001 trip to Cuba with the Haverford baseball team, this history course taught by Associate Professor Alexander Kitroeff examines the interrelationship of sport and society from a historical perspective and on a global scale, including a focus on key issues that have shaped the Olympic Games and the World Cup.

Music at Haverford

The Department of Music at Haverford offers a creative approach to music theory and a curriculum in music history that deals with music in the social context and embraces world music and jazz. Additionally, the department's applied music program and ensembles provide students with opportunities for performances and tours.
