Critical Disability Studies: Theory and Practice, a health studies course inspired by interested students, features a semester-long project in partnership with the Center for Creative Works, a studio and teaching space for artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Cool Classes blog series highlights interesting, unusual, and unique courses that enrich the Haverford College experience.

Public Policy Forum 2016

“During the panels, student poster sessions, and David Wessel’s keynote address, students were able to learn about policy issues from experts in their respective fields, while also hearing the personal stories of how these alumni made their way from Haverford toward their own career trajectories.” - Dean of Career and Professional Advising Kelly Cleary

The Public Policy Forum featured alumni discussing issues in education, environmental policy, health, incarceration and criminal justice, poverty and homelessness, and big data.

Then & Now: Music

Haverford’s first orchestra was founded in 1895, and in 1940, with its numbers dwindling, the group joined forces with Bryn Mawr. Under William Heartt Reese’s sustained guidance the orchestra grew in numbers and skill, and in 1963 and 1964 it undertook its most ambitious concert repertoire to date, including pieces by Bartók, Fauré, and Shostakovich.
