In the Collection

John James Audubon’s The Birds of America: From Drawings Made in the United States and Their Territories is considered an artistic and scientific masterpiece. In addition to two first-edition sets produced between 1839 and 1844, the College possesses a pen-and-ink sketch of a Red-breasted Snipe with field notes in Audubon’s hand.

"In the Collection" highlights some of the rare and marvelous items that are part of Magill Library's Special Collections.

Poetry Reading Group

The English department offers courses in the literary traditions of the English-speaking world. The department aims to develop in its students the ability to respond to texts thoughtfully and critically, and to articulate those responses in clear and fluent English.

The HCAH sponsored Poetry Reading Group, in conjunction with Visiting Assistant Professor Thomas Devaney, hosted a prose poetry reading in Woodside Cottage. Photo by Brad Larrison.
