Comprehensive Campus Plan
October 2023
Haverford has retained Sasaki Associates to be our partner in this important and necessary work. Headquartered in Boston, the firm will be collaborating with the campus community over the coming months in drafting a plan that addresses academic life, campus life, housing, landscape and open space, athletics and recreation, mobility, sustainability, and inclusion. At its core, the process will assist the College in physically translating and supporting the strategic initiatives and aspirations outlined in the College’s recently adopted Haverford 2030 strategic plan.
The 2009 Master Plan was approved in February 2009 by the Board of Managers.
The Steering Committee (2008-2009) created a Master Plan that serves as a living document and decision making tool, providing guidance for the physical development of the College well into the future. The plan is comprehensive, historically responsive, and environmentally sensitive, and takes into consideration Haverford's past, present and future. The plan clearly articulated our priorities as a campus in 2009, and is flexible enough to respond to changing contingencies. In this sense, the Master Plan is never “finished”, and continues to evolve along with the College community as a whole.
