Paris: Panoramas
VCAM Exhibition Wall
As part of Advanced Topics in French Literature, taught by Kathryne Corbin, this exhibit explores the structures of several American cities and reflects on how their features are similar to those of nineteenth century Paris, specifically in terms of geography, architecture, and perspective.
Wastelandia
Art of the Anthropocene
Upper Create Space/VCAM 206
As part of the Capstone for Visual Studies, taught by Erin Schoneveld, this exhibition takes seriously the scientific proposal that we are living in a geological epoch called the Anthropocene, in which humanity is the determining factor of the continued livability of planet Earth. The works in Wastelandia explore the potential of art to transform and repair human relationships with one another and the planet.
Some Assembly Required
Display Cases/VCAM 201
The Visual Studies course “Some Assembly Required,” taught by the Maker Arts Space’s Kent Watson, invited students to think critically about objects of play. Students 3D-scanned themselves and combined their scans with open-source action figure designs to create 3D-printed action figures of themselves.
