Workshop on Haverford's Chinese Propaganda Poster Collection

The workshop was held on November 10, 2016.
On November 10, Professor Xiaobing Tang, professor of Modern Chinese Studies and Comparative Literature at the University of Michigan spoke on campus about changing visual culture in Chinese propaganda posters from recent history. Haverford's Special Collections houses numerous, rare Chinese propaganda posters from the 1920's. Attendees discussed visual culture from this period of Chinese history. The event was organized by EALC Professor Shiamin Kwa (BMC) and research librarian Anna-Alexandra Fodde-Reguer (HC).

As part of his visit, Professor Tang also delivered a lecture at Bryn Mawr on November 9 titled “Changing Visions: Political Posters in Modern Chinese Visual Culture”
