Crisis Support Resources
The following agencies provide various support, such as suicide prevention, crisis helplines, victim assistance services and support, social services navigation, and/or mental health and suicide prevention resources.
Crisis helplines are not designed to provide ongoing counseling and case management, but are meant to help in moments of crisis to provide stabilization and safety, and direct individuals towards ongoing support. Some of the agencies listed below may offer additional ongoing services outside of their agency’s helpline service.

“The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ young people. We provide information & support to LGBTQ young people 24/7, all year round.” The Trevor Project is a free, confidential service. The Trevor Project also offers opportunities to connect with other LGBTQ young people through an online social community called TrevorSpace, as well as a resource center with articles on various topics.

Free, confidential peer-support, information, and local resources provided by members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Haverford College is located in both Montgomery and Delaware counties. An individual’s location on campus will determine which County Crisis Unit responds. Campus Safety (610) 896-1111 (available 24/7) can help direct an individual to the appropriate county resource/response team.

- Laurel House is a domestic violence agency serving individuals and families. Laurel House provides comprehensive and free services, including a 24/7 crisis counseling helpline, emergency and transitional housing, clinical counseling, medical and legal advocacy, and civil legal representation.
