Lift Up LIFTFAR
LIFTFAR (Low Income and First-in-Family Assistance and Resources) helps ensure that every student has the tools to thrive at Haverford. Last year, LIFTFAR made 168 grants for incidental and unanticipated expenses—both academic and non-academic—that are not covered by financial aid. Students got help with winter coats and boots, visa fees for study abroad, laptop repairs, uncovered medical expenses, and much more.
To secure the future of LIFTFAR, President Benston has committed $100,000 given to his discretionary budget by a donor for diversity initiatives. Half will help establish a permanent endowment, and the other half will be current-use funding. This amount will match—dollar for dollar— gifts from the community of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends.
Your support of Lift Up LIFTFAR will help students in immediate, practical ways. Removing financial barriers to success is essential to maintaining the diversity and character of the College. Please participate before the campaign ends at midnight, February 27.
