Your Gift to the Haverford Fund impacts the college in so many ways:
Tuition income does not cover the entire cost of educating students - in fact, it covers only 70%.
Unrestricted giving helps the College cover that“gap” as well as support projects such as new internships, lab supplies, student research, student services, etc.
Gifts to the Haverford Fund account for 8% of the general operating budget each year.
A gift of $50 could supply the college with 8 pairs of chemistry goggles, 3 pairs of track spikes, 1.5 hours of voice lessons or 1 bottle of hydrochloric acid for the chemistry lab.
It would take $84 million of additional endowment money to spin-off the $4.2 million raised in annual giving each year.
A contribution to the Haverford Fund has the same impact as an endowment gift of 20 times its size!
