This year's challenge raised nearly $440,000 to support Haverford Athletics.
From February 12 to 15, the Haverford College community came together in an extraordinary show of support for Haverford Athletics, raising a record-breaking $439,907 during the fourth annual Gameday Fords giving challenge. With an incredible 1,209 donors — more than double the initial goal of 600 — this year's campaign reached new heights.
Support poured in from alumni spanning the classes of 1963 through 2024, parents from 1996 through 2029, and every class of current student-athletes. Even members of the incoming class of 2029 joined in to make their first impact on Haverford Athletics.
All 23 varsity programs benefited from contributions, with gifts arriving from 41 states and six countries. Numerous generous matching challenges from alumni and friends of the College amplified the impact of these donations, making this year's challenge even more powerful.
Among the individual athletic programs, men's and women's fencing led the leaderboard, surpassing its donor goal by an astounding 297.1 percent. Field hockey (272 percent), cricket (262 percent), women's soccer (228 percent), and volleyball (164 percent) followed closely behind. Women's lacrosse, softball, baseball, squash, women's basketball, and men's basketball also met or exceeded their goals, while every varsity team reached at least 70 percent of its 2025 target.
The generosity of these gifts enhances the experience of our scholar-athletes as they develop teamwork and leadership skills both in and out of the classroom. Athletics play a central role in campus life, and each donor is a vital part of the community that fosters the intellectual, physical, and personal development of our students.
While the Gameday Fords challenge has ended, there's still time to make an impact. Visit hav.to/give to support our student-athletes and stay updated on their success at haverfordathletics.com.
