July marks the beginning of the fifth year of the Haverford House Program. The program, run by the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship, provides a venue for the Haverford community to explore global citizenship in our own region and to strengthen connections between the College and the city of Philadelphia. Haverford House provides room, board, health insurance, a transportation subsidy, and a small stipend to seven recent Haverford alumnae/i who share a large Victorian house in the Spruce Hill neighborhood of West Philadelphia. We proudly announce our new Fellows along with their host agencies:
Leah Gold, biology major: Maternity Cares Coalition in Center City.
Elsa Noterman, political science major: Northwest High School for Peace and Social Justice in Mount Airy.
Stephanie Rudolph, psychology major: Community Legal Services in Center City
Angela McCole, English Major: Anti-Defamation League in Center City.
MarÃa Nieves, biology major, Spanish minor: Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.
Emma Chubb, art history and French major: Friends Neighborhood Guild in Northern Liberties.
