A paper co-authored by Professor of Physics Jerry Gollub, Professor of Biology Karl Johnson, and physics postdoctoral fellow Jeffrey Guasto has attracted significant attention from the scientific community. It has recently been published in Physical Review Letters Online, where it has been named an“Editor's Selection.” A corresponding “Viewpoint” piece also highlights the paper, which presents the first time-resolved measurements of the oscillatory velocity field induced by swimming unicellular microorganisms. In addition, the professors have been contacted by Physics Today, Physics World, and The New Scientist, all of which intend to write about this research.
