Admissions Update
Details
The Haverford Class of 2014 has already begun to take shape, with nine students matching through the QuestBridge program and 127 students admitted through early decision.
This year's admission process began with Haverford's second year of participation in the QuestBridge College Match, a program connecting high-achieving low-income students with admission at 27 partner institutions. Haverford matched with nine amazing students, with individuals hailing from California, Illinois, Nebraska, Colorado, Virginia, Florida, and Arizona. Eight are from high schools from which Haverford has never enrolled a student, and six from schools from which Haverford has never received an application.
The QuestBridge process was followed closely by early decision, with Haverford receiving 232 applications from 29 states, DC, and 7 foreign countries.
"This was undoubtedly the strongest early decision pool of candidates in my time at Haverford, in terms of both the academic and personal accomplishments of the students who applied" said Jess Lord, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid. "We admitted an incredible group of students, and the most diverse early decision group in terms of geographic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds. We are extremely excited about this wonderful start to the Class of 2014."
Admission at Haverford now continues with the regular decision process. The application deadline is January 15 and admission officers will be diligently and carefully reading applications throughout the winter. The admission committee meets to make decisions in March, with decisions going out to students at the end of that month.
Congratulations to the first members of the Class of 2014!
