2011-12 Tuition Information
Details
The Haverford College Board of Managers has approved a 3.9% increase in tuition and fees for the academic year 2011-12. This matches last year's increase, which had been the lowest percentage increase in 30 years. Total charges will be $55,050.
“We want to do all we can to ensure that Haverford students continue to have the best opportunity to benefit from, and contribute to, a unique undergraduate experience,” says President Stephen G. Emerson, ‘74. “To accomplish this, we need to provide the very best in teaching, facilities and support services, and our budget enables us to deliver on that promise. We must also do all we can to enable the best students to attend in the first place. That's why we remain deeply committed to need-blind admission and a financial aid policy that has replaced loans with College grants.” Financial aid remains the second largest expense after salaries and benefits, and the College is budgeting a 10.3% increase in financial aid for the coming year.
“We recognize, respect and remain attentive to the economic challenges that continue to confront our nation, and our Haverford families. As we prepare our budget going forward, we reaffirm our determination to steward our resources carefully as we hold the interests of our students close to heart.”
