Center for Peace and Global Citizenship Announces Summer 2018 Interns
Details
The Center will support the work of 64 Bi-Co students across Philadelphia, the United States, and the world this summer.
The Center for Peace and Global Citizenship will support 64 Bi-College student summer internships this year. The CPGC internship program puts Haverford's educational philosophy into practice by providing students with opportunities to integrate their academic learning with practical experience in a way that fosters responsible engagement with social justice issues.
The interns were selected for demonstrating intellectual engagement with important domestic or international issues and a commitment to understanding how global processes affect local communities. These students will then bring what they learn on their internships back to the Haverford campus in significant ways next year, both in the classroom and via co-curricular activities.
This summer the Center will support 51 Haverford students and 13 Bryn Mawr students who are undertaking 30 domestic internships and 34 international ones. The majority of those interns are rising juniors and seniors: four are from the Class of 2018, 25 are from the Class of 2019, 23 are from the Class of 2020, and 13 are from the Class of 2021.
