Alumna awarded fellowship to study in Athens
Florencia Foxley ‘13 has been awarded the James Rignall Wheeler Fellowship, which will her to conduct research for a year in Greece.
Alumna Florencia Foxley will spend next academic year as the James Rignall Wheeler Fellow at the American School for Classical Studies at Athens. Florencia, who graduated from Haverford with a B.A. in Classical Languages in 2013, is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Colorado, Boulder. While at the School, Florencia will be researching the material cultural evidence for Greek marriage practices and norms, which will contribute to her dissertation work on anomalous marriages as the source of dramatic conflict in Euripidean tragedy.
