The Haverford Innovations Program (HIP) works to catalyze the creative and strategic thinking of students around a problem, need, or question, with the goal of fostering new solutions and opportunities through creative entrepreneurial learning projects.
In summer 2024, HIP will pilot the Innovation Incubator for one team of students working on a collaborative project. An 8-week program, the Innovation Incubator will support that team’s project development, with the goal of significantly advancing that concept’s readiness and marketability. Such projects are designed and defined broadly, and the end result may take the form of a marketable product, a creative work for public release, an organization or company, or another form of social innovation.

Haverford MI3_IC Philadelphia Internship Program
Funded by a foundation set up by a Haverford alum to encourage Haverford students to engage in an 8–10 week summer work experience related to social entrepreneurial endeavors and/or impact investing activities. The internship program fosters hands-on experiences, learning-by-doing, exposure to the nuts and bolts of starting up a business and mentorship by a leading entrepreneur in the field. The intent of the program is to provide appropriate stipends, and living expenses if necessary, for summer work experiences for which students might not otherwise receive the funding that their financial commitments require. It is designed for students who have completed their sophomore or junior year (rising juniors and rising seniors).
Contact smudd [at] haverford.edu (Shannon Mudd), Director of Microfinance, Impact Investing, and Social Entrepreneurial Programs for details.

If a student is interested in doing independent research (usually in support of a senior thesis), they can apply for the Summer Research Fellowship. The deadlines and applications are different for each program. For questions, contact Kelly Jung, HCAH Program Manager.

The KINSC Summer Scholars and Velay Fellowship programs provide financial support for students who are able to secure unpaid laboratory research positions or public policy internships that have a significant natural science component either on-campus or off-campus during the summer of 2024.

Summer funding must be used by currently enrolled students only; therefore, we regret that we cannot accept applications from seniors who will graduate before summer 2024.
