About the Position
Reporting to the Director of Access and Disability Services (ADS), the Assistant Director advances the mission of Haverford College by supporting the Office’s efforts to create an equitable, compliant, and barrier-free campus environment for students via academic, residential, dining, and other accommodations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review disability documentation of students to determine eligibility for services and reasonable accommodations
• Support accommodation implementation, arranging note takers, scribes and alternative text as well as coordinating/assisting with the housing accommodation process
• Assist with data entry into Titanium and maintain electronic records
• Provide information to students about the office of Access and Disability Services and the process to receive accommodations and support
• Document and maintain records of verbal and written communication
• Collaborate and consult with campus offices and departments, Advising Deans, faculty, and staff about disability-related matters
• Assist with planning community disability awareness initiatives and events
• Research best practices in higher education disability support

Line of Report: The Assistant Director, Access and Disability Services reports to the Director of Access and Disability Services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Two years of relevant professional experience in student support, disability advocacy, or higher education administration

Professional Competencies

• Experience working with college students with disabilities and/or broad knowledge of relevant issues
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Adept at working with a variety of constituencies including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents
• Ability to respond effectively and appropriately to the needs of a diverse educational community
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Problem solving skills
• Flexibility and sound judgment
