Jennifer Barr received her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Temple University, and spent the following three years working as Director of Student Activities at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has been with Haverford College since 1998.
Throughout her time at Haverford, Jennifer has held various roles within the Dean's division focusing on career advising and academic affairs, health professions advising, pre-law advising, serving on campus committees and task forces, and managing long-standing signature programs such as the Haverford College Extern Program and the Whitehead Internship program. In 2022 Jennifer moved into the role of Associate Dean for Student Success and currently oversees The Sophomore Experience. She is Advising Dean for last names that begin with G, H, P, S.
In her personal time, Jennifer is a published author, currently writing her fourth book and second novel. Her debut historical fiction middle grade novel, GOODBYE, MR. SPALDING (Calkins Creek/Astra Publishing House) was published in 2019, and selected by the American Library Association as a '2019 Top-10 Sports Books for Kids.' Her next book THUNDER AND MERCY (Calkins Creek/Astra Publishing House) is slated for publication in Fall 2026.
