Edwin E. Tuttle '49, a longtime friend and generous supporter of Haverford College and a leading philanthropist in the Philadelphia area, died May 19 at the age of 79 at his home in Ventnor, N.J.

This summer, Claire Brislin '07 worked with Germantown's historic Cliveden House, participating in a 10-week student summer internship through the John B. Hurford '60 Humanities Center. The second year of the Center's new program has seen the doubling of opportunities open to students, now placing rising seniors in a dozen arts organizations in the Philadelphia area.

Shaun Hill '01 is well on his way to fulfilling a dream he has had since his days at Haverford—starting his own homestead brewery. Currently the brewmaster at The Shed in Stowe, Vt., he made what he terms his“glorified hobby” into a professional career.
