Stremlau has been named the grand prize winner and the North American regional winner for the GE & Science Prize for Young Life Scientists.
Matt Stremlau '99 is at the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator's Office at the State Department as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Washington, D.C.
Stremlau will receive his award in Stockholm, Sweden, on December 12. He received the grand prize for his essay, "Why Old World Monkeys Are Resistant to HIV/AIDS," which was published in the December 7 issue of Science.
